Pruning your Roses in January keeps them healthier and you will get a better bloom.

After pruning apply a slow release fertilizer such as ‘Osmocote’ and allow the winter rains to water in the fertilizer deeply. In spring, remove any leaves with rust, keep an eye out for aphids and other insect pests treating with insecticidal soap as needed.

Trim off dead flower heads just above the first 5 leafed stem. This will encourage roses to bloom again.
